How Therapy for Anxiety Can Help
In Anxiety Therapy, I create a supportive space where you can let go of unrealistic expectations that cause unnecessary stress. Together, we will discuss how perfectionism and self-doubt formed your identity. Then, build self-awareness and self-acceptance towards a healthy self-esteem.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – catch, check and change the thoughts, feelings and actions that are running the show.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – build a life around values, not the avoidance of hard things.
DBT
Dialetical Behavioral Therapy – accept reality for what it is to move forward with what it can become.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness Based Therapy – focus on the here and now to release the shoulda, coulda, wouldas.
IPT
Interpersonal Psychotherapy – brief, structured way to improve communication and strengthen relationships.

No, I do not prescribe, adjust or discontinue medication. However, I can refer you to a prescribing physician.
-
Starting therapy should feel clear, supportive and pressure free. In our intake session, we will review informed consent and confidentiality, explore the roles and responsibilities between Client and Therapist, gather background information, and answer any questions you may have. If we agree to move forward with a therapeutic relationship, we will schedule future sessions.
During our first therapy session, we will identify the problems that led you to therapy, create therapy goals to work on and list specific changes you want to see from your progress. It is important to discuss your therapeutic journey in advance so as it unfolds, you can recognize your efforts toward successful outcomes.
Each session thereafter will give us opportunities to identify problems, break down goals into small action steps, and monitor progress. This can look like discussing emotions, accepting lived experiences, practicing helpful skills, and implementing effective change. We celebrate progress, not perfection so you have to be an active participant in your success on this journey!
-
That is completely OK. Therapy works best when there is a good match. If another level or type of care is appropriate, we will discuss that openly.
