Guiding others on a path towards authentic living

Authentic Living involves alignment, accountability, and authenticity through intentional awareness and action. Alignment is the courageous act of choosing a path that’s the right fit for you. Accountability is maintaining responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors on said path. Authenticity is arriving to each destination as your true self. Authentic Living requires awareness and action from you to be an active participant throughout this journey.

Lets get started. My services

Individual Therapy

At Authentic Living Therapeutic Solutions, I offer online/virtual 60 minute individual therapy sessions in Georgia to adults navigating depression, anxiety ADHD, relationship issues, low self esteem and life transitions.

Individual Therapy is a collaborative process so I partner with Clients to explore their challenges, identify the strengths and resources to meet their needs and develop practical skills to achieve their goals. Reaching out for support takes courage and I’m here to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space that honors your unique journey.

Guiding You Our Therapy Process

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and lived experiences that are client-centered. I integrate techniques to improve overall quality of life — not just reduce symptoms.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – catch, check and change/control the thoughts, feelings and actions that are running the show

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – build a life around values, not avoidance

DBT

Dialetical Behavioral Therapy – accept reality for what it is to move forward with what it can become or acceptance of what we can't control to move forward with what we can (control)

SFBT

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy – future-oriented vehicle that drives sustained change

Mindfulness

Mindfulness Based Therapy – focus on the here and now to break free/away from the shoulda, coulda, wouldas.

The work you do in session will guide you outside of session throughout your therapeutic journey and beyond.

How we Begin

Starting therapy should feel clear, supportive and pressure free, her’se what you can expect/What you can expect from individual therapy:

In our intake session, we will review informed consent and confidentiality, explore the roles and responsibilities between Client and Therapist, gather background information, and answer any questions you may have. If we agree to move forward with a therapeutic relationship, we will schedule future sessions.

During our first therapy session, we will identify the problems that led you to therapy, create therapy goals to work on and list specific changes you want to see from your progress. It is important to discuss your therapeutic journey in advance so as it unfolds, you can recognize your efforts toward successful outcomes.

Each session thereafter will give us opportunities to identify problems, break down goals into small action steps, and monitor progress. This can look like discussing emotions, accepting lived experiences, practicing helpful skills, and implementing effective change. We celebrate progress, not perfection so you have to be an active participant in your success on this journey!

Benefits

Benefits of participating in therapy?

ALTS/I understand that vulnerability and trust within the therapeutic alliance can facilitate profound change. On average, our clients feel a sense of safety and comfort within the first 2-4 therapy sessions. Research from the American Psychological Association shows that almost 75% of people who begin therapy see some benefits after six months of mental health treatment. Clients who attend therapy are happier, healthier, peaceful people that develop effective habits.

What can happen if you don’t attend therapy

For people who don’t come to therapy, their situation may improve but the conditions left untreated can worsen and cause serious consequences. Untreated depression, anxiety and ADHD can lead to suicidal thoughts or actions, self harm, panic attacks, phobias, school dropout, unemployment, unhealthy relationships, divorce, and bankruptcy.

These negative outcomes can become debilitating, dangerous or fatal but/and are also preventable. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than a quarter of adults in America experience depression, anxiety, or another mental disorder in any given year. Early recognition and appropriate treatment in therapy can help you focus on yourself, see positive outcomes and live a better life.
